ศึกษาประวัติและวิวัฒนาการของรัฐธรรมนูญ ความหมายและประเภทของรัฐธรรมนูญ ศึกษาปรัชญาของแนวคิดต่างๆของระบบรัฐธรรมนูญนิยม (Constitutionalism) แนวคิดเกี่ยวกับสิทธิและเสรีภาพ ตลอดจนหลักประกันในการคุ้มครองสิทธิเสรีภาพ หลักประชาธิปไตย หลักนิติธรรม (Rule of Law) หลักการแบ่งแยกอำนาจและถ่วงดุลอำนาจซึ่งกันและกัน โยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งระบบการควบคุมกฎหมายมิให้ขัดต่อรัฐธรรมนูญตามหลักความเป็นกฎหมายสูงสุดของรัฐธรรมนูญ รวมทั้งศึกษาโครงสร้างและเนื้อหาของรัฐธรรมนูญไทย ระบบพรรคการเมืองและระบบการเลือกตั้งตามรัฐธรรมนูญไทย

The purposes of this course are to study history and evolution of constitution, meanings and different kinds of constitution, philosophy and various concepts of constitutionalism, concept on rights and freedom as well as the guarantee for the protection of rights and freedom, principle of democracy, rules of law, principle of decentralization and checks and balance, particularly the system of control of law not to be against constitution on the principle that the constitution is the highest law of the country as well as the structure and contents of Thai constitution, the political party system and the election system by the Thai constitution.
